WHO IS EDDIE?
Eddie has always gravitated towards design and buildings, so it’s no wonder he’s ended up as a project leader at SDA. Not his only passion though, outside of the office Eddie cooks magical feasts with his friends and family. Often pulling from his flourishing herb garden, with some coriander here and some chillies there, hey pesto! You’ve got yourself a homemade treat from this kind-hearted soul. His creations are so captivating, he was even invited on Masterchef!
Cooking and designing aside, Eddie is a bit of a modern-day Archimedes. Contemplating problems and having eureka moments, not in a bath but in the humble shower. Eddie has surmounted some of life’s most unfailing puzzles there and is known to head for the water when in need of a clear solution. For a more relaxed experience, he’ll take a trip to the ocean baths or, if the surfs agreeable, Newie beach for a good bodysurf at dusk.
ON BEING A TEAM COORDINATOR
Being a team coordinator grounds this creativity in the real world. It involves working within a large eclectic team of people and encouraging them towards common goals. It requires careful listening and clear communication for a client to reach a happy balance between their brief and budget. It requires consideration of space to create buildings that work and efficient management of time to bring those buildings to fruition.
A team coordinator needs to have an understanding of materials and light and movement and detailing to make myriad different decisions for each and every project that ultimately contributes to functional and comfortable spaces that are a joy to be in and beautiful to behold.
