WHO IS DANIEL?
A principal at SDA, Daniel has substantial experience across a variety of sectors and has worked in both a local and interstate capacity. Bringing a unique blend of flair and sensibility to every project, Dan’s creative designs work perfectly with his functional approach.
When he’s not cooking up creative ideas at SDA, Daniel enjoys traveling, relaxation and family time. For Dan, visiting different places and being open to the various customs and cultures is incredibly enriching. Both on a personal and professional level, he finds an attitude of openness to be extremely valuable.
Daniel’s awareness of the way people think, feel, and understand experience inspires and reinvigorates his love of design. Helping clients articulate how they want to live enables him to tackle each project with a fresh and unique perspective. Ultimately, understanding people allows Dan to create something that works, which is what he thinks it’s all about.
ON BECOMING AN ARCHITECT
I am going to be honest, I cringe at the very thought of trying to articulate why I became an architect for fear of sounding as though I am trying to cram in as much architectural jargon in one sentence as I can. It really is quite simple for me. I love buildings, I love construction and I love the experience of watching an idea become a physical reality.
I love designing spaces that people enjoy being in. I love designing spaces that people don’t even know they want to be in. I genuinely enjoy being an architect and having people entrust their aspirations to me OR as my sons believe I like drawing pictures with crayons and yes I am the one colouring outside of the lines. As long as everyone is enjoying themselves everything is all good with me.
