Rebirth Reborn

ABOUT THE PROJECT
As a home that had been in the same family for decades, creating opportunities for new memories was paramount to the new generation living in Rebirth House. The home is well loved, well worn, but not suited to the lifestyle of its new inhabitants. The works undertaken are simple in form, yet significant in their impact. New living areas are grafted to the rear of the home forming private indoor and outdoor entertaining areas.
As with all SDA projects, it’s not about high budgets and the latest materials; being achievable is the key. Achieving high-quality materials, planning and space on a shoestring budget takes thought and consideration. ‘Old’ boundary fences are repurposed to provide ‘new’ timber cladding to the rear storage room, whilst planning efficiencies maximise internal space. Rebirth House represents a generation of people. People living in the same space but in different ways.
