ABOUT THE PROJECT
Situated on a small west facing site with a 6m cross fall, the site conditions were always going to be a challenge for Stack House. Embracing the challenges, the design approach minimised the building footprint and stacked accommodation across three levels.
The external form responds to its environment with harsh western sun moderated via deep vertical ribs and inset balconies. The highly sculpted design adds a depth to the façade creating interplay of light and shadow. Stack House successfully demonstrates that a challenging site can result in a unique and creative outcome, where constraints are transformed into opportunities.
